MARKLE, Katherine Dorothy

Katherine Dorothy Markle, 63, of Goodyear, died July 4, 2006. Mrs. Markle was born July 3, 1943, in Chilliwack, British Columbia, to Hazel and John McGuire. She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on Sept. 9, 1968, before moving to Novato, Calif., in 1969. She moved to Vacaville, Calif., in 1972, and to Lyons, Kan., in 1977. Mrs. Markle earned a degree in education in 1988 and taught seventh- and eighth-grade English in Ellinwood, Kan., until 1995. From 2001 until her death, she alternately lived in Arizona and Kansas. Mrs. Markle is survived by her husband, Philip W. Markle; one daughter, Brynn; two sons, Brett of Seattle and Brian of Los Angeles; and one grandchild. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Church in Lyons, Kan., where memorials may be sent. Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel in Goodyear made the local arrangements.
