Mrs. Alva was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Charlotte, Texas and moved to Arizona in 1947. She was a homemaker. She is survived by three daughters, Maria Guajardo, Carmen Coralejo and Susana Morey; two sons, Charlie Tijerina and Luis Tijerina; three sisters, Silvestia Alcorta, Tencha Aleman and Janie Soliz; one brother, Jesse Hernandez; 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today, at Lifeway Church, 18926 W. Latham St., Buckeye. The Rev. George Molina will officiate. Memorials may be sent to Lifeway Church, 18926 W. Latham St., Buckeye, AZ 85326.
