Charles Orlando
Charles Orlando Hanson, 85 years old, of Sun City, Arizona, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 in Sun City.
Mr. Hanson, a former Safety Manager for Michigan Bell, was born January 7, 1922 in Appleton, Wisconsin.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan in 1940. He was an active member of Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church since 1984. His church positions included president of the congregation, assisting minister and various council and committee positions. Charles also enjoyed a lifelong love of traveling, was a member of the American Legion Post 62 and was a decorated World War II Veteran who received the Bronze Star among other military service accolades.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Louise Hanson and his sister, Anne H. Gaines. He is currently survived by his beloved fiancŽe, Nancy A. Pribyl of Sun City, Arizona; his sons, Charles Orlando Hanson, Jr. (Rosalie) of Detroit, Michigan; Donald A. Hanson (Pamela) of Orlando, Florida; and grandsons: Jeffrey J. Hanson (Christina) and Christopher C. Hanson, both of Orlando Florida; his step-brother, Charles Wise (Dorothy) of Sun City West, Arizona. He also enjoyed the companionship of his devoted dog. Molly.
Service was held on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 11025 N. 111th Avenue, Sun City, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church are requested. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Mortuary Golden Door Chapel, 623-979-7111.
