JOHNSON, Virginia Lee

Virginia Lee Johnson, 81, of Avondale died June 28, 2006.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Denver. She served in the Navy during World War II, and later raised her family in Iowa and California. She relocated to Avondale in 1998.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Mary Hammonds of Avondale and Lori Carmichale of New Mexico; one son, Robert Johnson of Prescott; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a service at 10:30 a.m., both at Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, 99th Avenue and Thomas Road in Avondale.

Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel made the arrangements.
