Mary Lou Jacobs passed away Jan. 14, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 71. She was born March 12, 1940, in Colton, Calif., to Ray and Mamie (Long) Houghton.
Mary was raised in Artesia and graduated from Artesia High School in 1958. She worked as a cafeteria employee in the La Habra School District and Chino High School District in Chino, Calif., before retiring in 1989. She moved to Lake Havasu in 1989 and spent many years camping and boating along the river. She also enjoyed off-road exploring in dune buggies and jeeps.
Mary is survived by her loving family, husband, Alan Jacobs; daughter, Dee Ann Jacobs; son, Jeff Jacobs (Lida); grandson, Alosha and granddaughter, Julie; sisters, Pauline Veenendaal, of Ontario, Calif., Shirley Bryne, of Hemet, Calif., and Peggy Barton, also of Hemet.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice of Havasu, P O Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
No services are planned at this time, a Celebration of Life for the family will take place at a later date.
