James C. (Jim)
Jim James died peacefully on January 15th at his home. Born in Mullen, Nebraska on December 17, 1919, he finished high school in Mullen and then served in the Navy during WWII. He worked as an electronic technician on fighter and bomber planes.
Jim was a chicken rancher for 30 years, before retiring to Oregon and then moving to Yuma in 1987. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Mabel in their 5th wheeler. His hobbies included dancing, woodworking, music and crafts. But the highlight of his life pleasures was driving his 1935 Ford Coupe, pulling his trailer behind, when he was a young man.
He was a devoted husband, loving father to his children and stepchildren and was loved by all who knew him. He always had a smile for everyone.
Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mabel; daughter Lorrie, stepchildren Ruth, Michael, Joe and his wife Jane.
He is preceded in death by son Jimmie.
