KILLINGSWORTH, John L.

age: 64 yrs 3 mos 13 days John L. Killingsworth stepped into eternal joy and peace at home in Phoenix January 17, 2012. John was born October 4, 1947 in Flagstaff, AZ. He graduated from Yuma High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business from Arizona State University. John worked for Johnson's Mortuary until moving to Phoenix to attend ASU. After graduation from college, John was a career insurance agent/executive until his death. In Farmington, New Mexico; Phoenix, Mesa, and Peoria, Arizona, John was an agent. Over 20 years he served as an agency manager and executive while living in Yuma and Phoenix. His pleasure was preaching, teaching, and singing about the Lord Jesus he loved. He pastored Assembly of God churches in Bloomfield, New Mexico; Mesa and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father Rev. O.W. Killingsworth, mother Lillian Mae Killingsworth, brother, Roy Wayne Killingsworth, father-in-law Duane Graf, and brother-in-law Roger Brixey. He is survived by two daughters Julia Ruth Killian, her husband John, Phoenix, AZ; Amy Mae Thedinga, her husband David, Denver, CO; brother Rev. Paul Killingsworth, wife Karen, Yuma, AZ; sister Melba Killingsworth, Yuma, AZ; sister-in-law Sarah Brixey, Prescott, AZ; 3 grandchildren Aidan, Rachel and Christian Thedinga; 4 nieces, and 5 nephews. A memorial celebration will be on Saturday, January 21, 2:00pm at the First Assembly of God Church 3000 Avenue B. Friends and loved ones are invited to join.
