WHITAKER, Mildred (Mil)

Mildred Thomas Lundeen Whitaker (Mil), a resident of Sun City, Arizona, since 1976 and a resident of Royal Oaks since 1994, died Monday, May 21, 2007. Mil was a retired City Clerk of Portola Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to moving to California, she was a Real Estate Mortgage Closer in Minneapolis and Hopkins, Minnesota. She was a lifelong member of the Community of Christ (RLDS). Her grandfather, father, husband, son and one grandson were all ordained as ministers and she was an active and loyal member all of her life. Mildred's two husbands, Vernon E. Lundeen and George C. Whitaker, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Charles V. Lundeen and daughter-in-law, Joan Lundeen of Sun City, Arizona; her brother, David Thomas (Betty) of Lamoni, Iowa; her sister, Ruth Smith (Hugh) of Mesa, Arizona; and three grandsons: Vernon (Christine), David (Kresten), and Peter (Lea) Lundeen. A memorial service was held at the Community of Christ, 5035 W. Paradise Lane in Glendale, Arizona 85306 on Sunday, June 10, 2007.
