Harold C. Weimer, 93, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007.
He was born on December 26, 1913 to Andrew and Gertrude Weimer in Union City, Indiana.
Harold graduated from Purdue University in 1935 with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
He married LaVerne B. Wischmeier of Indianapolis, Indiana in 1939.
Most of his career was spent in Chicago, Illinois, as an engineer/salesman with Beardsley and Piper. He eventually retired to Sun City, Arizona, and later moved to Peoria, Arizona, residing at Sierra Winds. Wherever he lived, Harold was very active in the Lutheran church. Harold believed and accepted Jesus as his saviour at a young age. Throughout his life, Jesus' free gifts of eternal peace and salvation were a comfort to Harold. He also served at Nu Hope Alano Club for 25 years.
Harold is survived by his wife of 67 years, LaVerne; his four children: Brenda K. Carlson of Walnut Creek, California; Gary L. Weimer of Lombard, Illinois; Rebecca S. Gallermore of Joplin, Missouri; and Cheryl L. Gupta-Fletcher of Lisle, Illinois. He is also survived by one brother Gail Weimer of Reading, Pennsylvania; as well as six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, June 4, 2007 in the Sierra Winds Chapel, 17300 N. 88th Avenue in Peoria, Arizona. There was a private family interment service at Sunland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 9720 W. Peoria Avenue, Suite 128, Peoria, Arizona 85345.
