Jackie Georgine Denny, 83, of Sixes, Ore. died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011.
She was born Aug. 4, 1928 in Haynesville, La. to Frieda June Burns and George Louis Burns. Jackie attended high school in Hobbs, N.M. where she graduated in 1946.
After graduating from high school Jackie relocated to Springerville, where she lived until 1967. She moved to Oregon and eventually settled in Port Orford where she lived until 1994.
Jackie relocated to Moose Pass, Alaska in 1994 where she owned and operated Crown Point Lodge. In 2009 Jackie moved back to the Port Orford, Oregon area for health reasons.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frieda Burns; two spouses: Kenneth Nelson and Don Denny; brother Virgil Burns; sister Dorothy Burns; son Eddie Nelson; and grandson Joshua Nelson.
She is survived by five sons: Michael Burns of Mount Vernon, Wash.. Owen Nelson of Lincolnville, Maine, Kris Nelson of Bandon, Ore., Alan Nelson of Mesa, and Bill Nelson of Queens Creek. Jackie is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
