West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona October 01, 2010 John R. Westerberg, 84, of Litchfield Park died Sept. 27, 2010, in Mesa. Mr. Westerberg was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Rockford, Ill., to John F. and Edith A. He moved to Litchfield Park from Illinois in 1990. He was an Army Air Corps flight engineer during World War II. He graduated in 1950 from the University of Illinois and retired in 1989 from Weber-Knapp Co., in Jamestown, N.Y. He had a private pilot's license and was a charter member and president of the Elk Grove Lion's Club in Illinois. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Marilyn. He is survived by one son, Robert of Chandler; and one daughter, Ann of Loves Park, Ill. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private interment will take place later in Rockford, Ill.
