Clifford Grey (Tip)
Clifford Grey "Tip" Smith II, loving father and dear friend, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away June 10th, 2007 at the age of 55.
He was born April 15th, 1952 in Roswell, New Mexico.
Son of Jerry Newton Smith and Joan "Jody" Durant Walker Smith, he grew up playing baseball, camping, skiing and working on the farm with his father. He attended New Mexico Military Institute and graduated with a B.A. in History from Louisiana State University. Throughout the years he has worked for Life Shares group, Inc., Strategic Advisors Inc., Trailside Galleries, and most recently, America West Airlines/US Airways.
He had a love for sports (die hard LSU Tigers and Cowboys fan!) He was an amazing guitar player with a huge appreciation for all genres of music. He constantly surrounded himself with friends and family, and was loved by many.
He is survived by his mother Jody Smith Leonard; sister Jere K. Smith of Denver; four children Lindsay Kathryn Smith Woods (Wes) of Phoenix, Hayley Anne Smith of New Orleans, Marbury Eliza Smith of Phoenix and son James Grey Smith of Phoenix; grandson Stone Tennyson Woods of Phoenix and many more extended family and friends. Not to forget his beloved kitty "Eddley"!
Memorial services were held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, Thursday June 14th. Donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix AZ 85016.
