Maudie Georga Fry-Mauch, entered into her eternal rest January 16, 2012. She was born October 9, 1922 at Mariaville, Nebraska. The daughter of Samuel Fry & Matilda Petersen-Fry. She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church in Valentine, Nebraska and active in both church Circle and choir.
Maudie attended high school for two years in Newport, Nebraska and graduated from Rock County High School in 1940. On March 19, 1941 she was united in marriage to Duane Leon Mauch with 71 years together.
Three children were born to this union. Sharon Kay Mercure (Norris) of Clarinda, Iowa, David Duane Mauch (Robin) of Grand Junction, Colorado and Robin Lynn Butcher (William) of Kinderhook, New York.
Maudie's six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren have given her much enjoyment.
She has resided in Valentine and Norfolk, Nebraska. Upon retirement they moved to Sun City, AZ and have been there 29 years.
She was a member of Deborah Rebekah Lodge in Valentine, Nebraska and elected Noble Grand in November 1963. Activities that she enjoyed were dancing, crafts, bridge and golf, but most of all the time that she could share her love with her family.
Her generosity and thoughtfulness will be missed by all who knew her. She wanted everyone to remember her for her kindness and caring.
Services will be at the Lakeview United Methodist Church Chapel at 103rd Ave. and Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, Arizona on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Bassett Memorial Park Cemetery in Bassett, Nebraska on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements for graveside service are with Hoch Funeral Home.
