Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg AZ) Saturday, November 3, 1923, p 1 Embolism of Cerebral Artery Cause of Demise R. W. Baxter, for 30 years a resident and businessman of this town and vicinity, passed into a future existence where we all must go, last Thursday at 3pm. He had been ailing for over a month and was then taken to Los Angeles for medical diagnosis and treatment. When all hope for recovery expired he was taken back home by his sorrowing wife who is even now in critical condition. Baxter was a man of a quiet disposition and universally liked by all who knew him. Interment will be in the Phoenix cemetery on Monday at 10am. Deceased leaves two sons, besides his estimable wife and his young grandson. He was owner of considerable realty, including the town hall, his residence and lumber yard. The remains were sent to Phoenix just before our paper went to press, in anticipation of burial by relatives and friends on Monday. ~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona State Miner (Wickenburg AZ) Saturday, November 17, 1923, p 2 Died Last Week at Wickenburg, Arizona R. W. Baxter, one of the best known business man of Wickenburg, died at his home in that little city last week Thursday, death being due to embolism of the cerebral artery. He had been ailing for some time and physicians has done everything possible to save his life but without avail. About 25 years ago Mr Baxter was wedded to Miss Millie Feeler, aunt of our townsman, Sumner H Beecher, and the couple settled down in Wickenburg, where Mr Baxter engaged in mercantile pursuits and also conducted a hotel. Two sons were born to the couple, and they and a grandson, as well as the widow survive him. The funeral took place at Phoenix last Monday.---Kingman Miner
