ROBINETT JR., Dalton


The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on January 22, 2012 - Dalton Robinett Jr. was born in Kingman on April 25, 1943, and passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, in Ocala, Fla. Dalton spent his early childhood at the family home located about three miles northwest of Kingman. He attended local schools and upon graduation from Mohave County Union High School in 1961, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married the former Jewel Rogers in 1964 and three children were born to their union. Dalton was a fan of wrestling and football, and an avid reader of books by Louis L'Amour. He was well known by his family and friends for his wonderful sense of humor. Although Dalton lived most of his adult life away from Kingman, the people of Kingman were always in his heart, and he longed to return to his hometown to live, but it was not meant to be. Dalton was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel; infant daughter, Tracy; parents, Dalton Robinett Sr. and Ethel McCleskey Robinett; sister, Janet Pynchon; and brother, Gene Robinett. He is survived by his daughter, Desiree Lynn Price (Key); son, Mike (Teresa); stepsons, Paul Wooten and Bob Wooten; sisters, Ruby Bergbauer (Frank), Mary Haizlip, and Susan Thomas (Steve); also granddaughters, Mariah, Alexis, Adrienna, Katrina, Emily, Rachael, Maya, Brandy and Taryn; grandsons, Joshua, Kenny and Mason; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Alachua, Fla.
