Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Wednesday, January 25, 2012 - Sandi Pagel May 27, 1939 — Jan. 23, 2012 Sandi Pagel, of Big Rapids, Mich., and a winter visitor to Lake Havasu City for 20 years, passed away at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Sandi was preceded in death by her father, John Hartger; and brother, John Craig Hartger. She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Robert Pagel; sons, Terry VandenAkker, Brian (Stacy) VandenAkker; Robert Pagel Jr., Sandy (Peter) Noto, Helen Pagel, Mary (Carl) Ouwinga; siblings, Carl (Marie) Noe, Terry Hartger, Kathy (Denny) VanLoozenoord, David (Deb) Hartger; nine grandchildren and 12 nephews and nieces. Sandi retired from Community West Credit Union (formerly Steelcase CU) in 1992. She loved her home on Young's Lake, golfing (goofing) every chance she had, antiques, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Lake Havasu. Her motto was “Life is Good” and had a beautiful smile for everyone she met. Sandi’s wishes were to have her body donated to science for educational purposes with cremation to follow. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
