WEST, Joseph (Joe)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, January 25, 2012 Joe West was born the youngest son of Joseph Dorsey West Jr. and Christina V. Stanley Robinson West on July 28, 1961 in Alturas, Calif. He graduated from Modoc High in 1979, and married Billie Diane Houseman on Sept. 5, 1981. He was a volunteer fireman when he discovered his passion for cooking. In the early 1990s the family moved to Wickenburg. Joe was a manager and cook at the Country Kitchen for more than 15 years. He took early retirement due to health issues in 2004. He had many interests such as roses, painting, leather work, and crafting walking sticks out of local wood. Joe died on Jan. 12 after a brief hospitalization. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Billie and his first born son Joe D. West IV. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Rose West Love and his youngest son Alexander B West, step-daughter Vickie Knight-Karcopola, step-son Charley Knight, brother Christopher Robinson and sisters Donna Mercer and Debie Sandlers, Uncle Newt Stanley and a myriad of friends. His memorial was held Jan. 22 at the Wickenburg Christian Fellowship at 970 N. Tegner with Pastor George Garrick officiating.
