William E. Baker, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away July 26, 2003 at the
Veterans Hospital at 650 E. Indian School Rd. He was born in Manchester,
Kentucky on August 7, 1917. William is survived by his wife, of over 50
years, A. Ann Baker; his son, William E. Baker, Jr. of Prescott, AZ; 2
grandchildren, Jared Baker and Julie Ann O'Connor. He was a WWII Veteran
who served his country in the Army Air Corps. His 6 brothers, Bryan,
Herbert, Hubert, Clifton, Robert and Mendell, also served. His 3 sisters
are Viola Honchell, Cleo King, & Virgie King Jones.
He was a Life Member in DAV Chapter 31, Reynolds Square Dance Club, and a member of American Legion Post #29, Glendale, AZ. He was a crane operator for Reynolds Metals Co. for 31 years. His father & mother's families came to the USA from England in the 1600's. His 4th great-grand-father served in the Revolutionary War. His 2 great-grandfather's served in the War Between the States.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 2:00 PM at
Creative Living Fellowship, 1241 E. Northern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85020.
