Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published on December 11, 1996 - The Rev. Thomas Jarvis Young of Lake Havasu City died Dec. 7, 1996, at Havasu Samaritan Regional Hospital. He was 70. He was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Asheville, N.C. For 20 years he was a minister for First Southern Baptist Church. He moved from Asheville, N.C. to Lake Havasu City 31 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Young, Lake Havasu City; sons, Tim Young and wife Debbie, Lake Havasu City; Thomas J. Young Jr. and wife Diana, San Marcos, Calif.; daughters, Linda Emberlin and Tricia young, both of Phoenix; mother, Gwendolyn Young, Orienta, Fla.; brothers, John Logan Young, Asheville, N.C., James Russell Young, Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Marjorie Eagan, Winter Park, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Services will be Thursday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m. at First Southern baptist Church with Rev. Edward Wyatt and Dr. Dan Stringer officiating. Burial will be at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Society of Arizona, P.O. Box 25084, Phoenix, AZ 85002. Arrangements were made by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home.
