Norris City (IL) newspaper Thursday, January 8, 1925, p 1 The remains of W D Booth arrived Monday evening via the B & O from Phoenix, Arizona, accompanied by Dr Eugene McGuire. Mr Booth was a former citizen of Norris City, having lived here with his family until more than twenty years ago, he sought the climate of Arizona for the benefit of his health. His family remained here and he made extended visits here at intervals. He succumbed to myocarditis, after a two weeks' illness. His wife was visiting in California at the time of his death but arrived home before the remains reached here. Mr Booth is survived by his wife, Celia, two sons, Eugene of Dion, Okla., and Ralph of Washington, Ind., four daughters, Mrs May DeBoard of Detroit, Mrs Carrie Guiney, Christopher, Mrs Hallie Douglas, Valier and Miss Zona Booth of this city, all of whom attended the funeral, except Mrs Guiney, who was prevented by illness in the family. The funeral was held Tuesday, January 6th, at 2pm from the residence, in charge of Rev J F McQuay. Interment in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
