The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, January 27, 2012 Eleanor G. Bookman passed away in Prescott, Ariz., on Jan. 22, 2012, at the age of 94. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1917, the oldest of four children of Lyle D. and Edith (Newton) Guilkey. She grew up in Columbus and received her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Ohio State University in 1939. She was a lifelong Buckeye football fan. In 1945, she moved to Phoenix and was a legal secretary for more than 40 years. In 1988, Eleanor moved to Prescott where she continued her interests in gardening, reading and astronomy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Jim Burgess; her brother Harold (Bud) Guilkey and his wife Jimmy of California; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nephews. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. If friends and family so desire, donations in her memory may be made to Sharlot Hall Museum at www.sharlot.org.
