Julia G. Chestna, 90, of Peoria, AZ left this world on June 10, 2007.
She was born in Massachusetts and resided there with her husband, John, until they retired to AZ in 1972.
Julia gave of her love and generosity to her church, St. Clement of Rome, and to the religious who served the Catholic Church. She spent many fulfilling hours volunteering there utilizing her skills in sewing, crafts and baking. Julia has donated her extensive collection of angelic memorabilia to St. Clement Church, where it is on display.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Chestna, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Edward Finnerty of Peoria, AZ, a granddaughter, Charon McFarland and a great-granddaughter, Serynn McFarland of Mount Juliet, TN, a cousin, Helen Mroz of Shelton, CT, nieces, Helen Gudaitis of Huntsville, AL, Gloria Chestna of Bridgewater, MA and Janet Yance of Alexandria, VA, nephew, Tom Chestna of Guilford, CT and many grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation with Rosary was at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ and a Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 15600 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ.
Julia will be remembered with love by all those that were blessed to know her. Please say a prayer for Julia and do something special for someone you love. Memorial donations may be made to Sun Health Volunteer Services, Boswell Hospital, 10401 W. Thunderbird Rd., Sun City, AZ 85351.
