GORMAN, Nancy Thelma

Nancy Thelma Gorman, 92, of Scottsdale, Arizona died peacefully in her sleep on May 29, 2007. She was born on August 9, 1914 in Healdsburg, California to Chester and Elsie Linebarger, the oldest of 6 children, all who have preceded her in death. Nancy's devoted husband of 52 years, Vincent D. Gorman, died in 1987. Nancy, a truly unique person, lived a long and interesting life. She owned her own business for 23 years, rafted down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, visited Mexico's Copper Canyon, South America, Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and every state in the Union. She was an avid oil painter, dancer, and golfer. Nancy was a devout Catholic, a Third Order Franciscan, and RCIA mentor. She touched many lives and will be missed. Nancy is survived by daughter Patricia (Harvey) Haller, son Gary (Lynn) Gorman, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Vigil service was held at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale. A Memorial Mass was held at St. Maria Goretti Church, 6261 N. Granite Reef Road, Scottsdale. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Published in The Arizona Republic on 6/8/2007.
