Dr. Stephen Lambourne, a prominent valley dentist since 1969, passed away May 22, 2007 at the Hospice of the Valley.
Dr. Lambourne was born April 2, 1931 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota Dental School, Steve first practiced dentistry in Wishek, and then Jamestown, North Dakota before beginning a practice in Phoenix in 1969. Dr. Lambourne retired in 2003 and later served as a substitute teacher in the Scottsdale School District. He served in the Korean War as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. He was active in the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale. Dr. Lambourne's favorite pastimes were tennis and sailing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend and Mrs. Arthur Lambourne of Tempe, Arizona. Survivors include his wife Mary of Scottsdale, daughters Devon of Scottsdale and Kathy of Santa Clara, CA; sons Stephen of Dallas, TX, Timothy of Rio Rico, AZ, and Christopher of Phoenix; and ten grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Joan Law of Santa Ana, CA, Muriel Kline of Beverly, MA, and Phebe Thompson of Scottsdale.
A memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church of Scottsdale; 7025 E. Osborn Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85251. Memorial donations may be made to the church. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
