Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from February 2 to February 9, 2012 - Mae Anabel Crockatt, age 86, a nine-year resident of Bullhead City, passed on to be with her Lord in Heaven on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at her home in Bullhead City, Ariz. She was born on March 31, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Erdman and Mabel Petz, who have passed on and are buried at Riverside National Cemetery. Mae was raised in California and graduated in 1943 from Franklin High School in Highland Park. She was the most popular girl throughout her school years. She was also the best dancer at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium where all of the greatest bands played every weekend. She met her future husband, Thomas, in high school and they dated on and off: dancing at the Pasadena Civic, attending movies at the Dirty Dime Theater in Glendale, and eating at the original Bob's Big Boy where the best hamburger was only 15ยข and rich malts were only a dime. They continued dating while Thomas served in the U.S. Navy, and were married on February 6, 1945. They honeymooned at Big Bear Lake, Calif. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lambert Petz; sister, Wendela Lee and husband, Donald Lee. Mae is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas; son, Lynn (Pam) Crockatt of Bakersfield, Calif; daughter, Lynda McKenney of Bullhead City, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mae's memory to Hospice of Havasu, P.O. Box 597, Lake Havasu, AZ 86405.
