WASS, Jim

The Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on February 5, 2012 - Jim Wass passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at the age of 63 in Parker. He was a proud Marine and Vietnam Veteran where he received three Purple Hearts. Jim met Sharon while they were both living in California and they were married there on May 1, 1977. Jim and Sharon were married for 35 years and had one daughter, Shannon, and as many cats and dogs as Sharon could sneak in. Jim was in the car business in Oregon for 20 years. When he'd had enough of that, he and Sharon moved to Arizona in December of 2001, so that they could fulfill their dream of opening a bar, The Fireside Lounge. He transitioned well into retirement while Sharon continues to run the bar. Jim certainly enjoyed his hobbies and toys. While living in Oregon, he liked to get outside to play a round of golf with his buddies. He loved singing and took every opportunity he had to do it, first by joining a barbershop group in Oregon and then setting up his personal karaoke system. Thanks to the amazing RV community in Parker, Jim discovered the RV way of life. He set up his new "home away from home" there, where he, Sharon, Boots, Parker and Gidget could be found boating on the river or relaxing by the fire. Jim's family is hosting final farewells at noon Wednesday, at Sharon's Fireside Lounge in Kingman and at 3 p.m. Friday, at the Oasis Bar at Emerald Cove RV Park in Parker. Join them for one last toast to Jim.
