The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/07/2012 Mack Dickerson Jr., 86, of Show Low died Jan. 21, 2012, at his home in Show Low. Mr. Dickerson, a retired fireman, was born on August 6, 1925 in Dona Ana, N.M. He spent his childhood in both Arizona and New Mexico. Following high school he enlisted in the Navy in 1944. He worked on the tanker ship, USS Nausset. Following his military service he worked as a fireman at Williams Air Force Base. He retired in the early ‘80s and cared for his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughters, Roxanne Fowler of Tempe; Janie Dickerson of Tucson; son Michael Duane Dickerson of Valley Farms; sisters: Mary Katherine Butler of Tucson, Etta Mae Freeland of Eagar; brother, Vernon Dickerson of Tucson and J.W. Dickerson of Valley Farms; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Dickerson in 1980 and his parents, Mack and Mary Dickerson. Private memorial services will be held. Black’s Show Low Mortuary handled arrangements
