Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Tuesday, February 07, 2012 Jean Biggs Dawson passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012. She was a fun loving, quick witted, confident woman. Born in 1928 in Galveston, Texas, she graduated from Ball High School in 1945. She is remembered for her southern roots and charm. In 1948 she married William "Bill" Thomas Biggs. The two settled in Texas City where they raised four children and maintained a close relationship with extended family always coming together for holidays and family celebrations. Over the years Bill and Jean moved from Texas to New Jersey, to Ohio, to D.C. and then Puerto Rico. Jean, a proud homemaker, managed her home with particularity and was a wonderful cook always experimenting, perfecting and passing along family recipes. She loved and was a talented at making crafts whether it was woodworking, embroidery, and unique gifts for others. Jean was a great seamstress creating dresses and costumes for her children, a Girl Scout Leader, a Water Safety Instructor with the local YMCA, and an amateur synchronized swimmer. Jean moved to Flagstaff, Arizona after Bill passed away in 1981. She worked at Little America as a Desk Clerk for ten years. In 1998 she married George Dawson. The two retired together and began vacationing around the country visiting family and friends. She always supported her children's endeavors, helped with grandkids and was excited to welcome her great-grandchildren. George recently preceded her in death. She is survived by her sisters Claire Katz and Neileen Lee, her four children and their spouses: Pennie and Greg Kleiner of Flagstaff, Bill and Debby Biggs of Goodyear, Arizona, Tim and Gail Biggs of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Kelly and Vicki Biggs of Springfield, Virginia and her 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
