Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, July 30, 1974 Delbert Lawrence Died Monday Delbert C. Lawrence, 76, died at the Whipple VA Hospital Monday. He was born on Jan. 15, 1898 in Texas, and had been a carpenter in California for many years. He belonged to Carpenter's Union Local No. 944, and was a Navy Veteran of World War 1. He was a member of the American Legion, and Veterans of World War 1 in San Bernardino. He had resided in California for 36 years, having moved there from Arizona, and lived in San Diego for the past four years. He is survived by his widow, Goldie, of San Diego; three sons, Ronald, of Glendale, Harvey, of Sierra Vista, and Daryl, of San Diego; three daughters, Mrs. Michael Van Denabel, of Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Jermell Grinell, of San Diego, and Mrs. Nancy Hicks, of Walnut Grove, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Nathan, of Kingman, and Armand, of Woodland, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Petersen, of Oakley, Calif., and Mrs. Jermell Joy, of Woodland Calif. Full military graveside rites will be held at the Prescott National cemetery on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Visitation is Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Memory Chapel. Note: Headstone lists his name as Delbert.
