Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, August 27, 1974 Bertha Braden Died Saturday Bertha Van Meter Braden, 100, died at Yavapai Community Hospital Saturday. She was born on March 6, 1874 at West Liberty, Ohio. She had lived in Arizona for 57 years and in Chino Valley for 10 years. She was a member of the West Van Buren Baptist Church in Phoenix and a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge and a pioneer member of the Friendship Circle Washington District. Survivors include one son, Chester S. Braden, of Bellefontaine, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Donna Rewick, of Phoenix, Mrs. Freda Lizarraga and Mrs. Grace Valenzuela of Glendale, Mrs. Dysart Murphy, of Chino Valley; one sister, Mrs. Sara McVay; of Bellefontaine, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Sunset Mortuary in Phoenix. Hampton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
