Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, September 23, 1974 Jess and Kathlean Archer Services in Seligman Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Seligman Cemetery for Roy Jess Archer, 38, and his daughter Kathlean, 7. Roy was killed when he re-entered their burning home and attempted to rescue Kathlean. Both died when the roof collapsed. The house was located north of Seligman. Roy was born on Dec. 17, 1935 in Chicago and came to Arizona at the age of 17. He had been a cowboy all his life. Kathlean was born on Oct. 29, 1966 in Missouri and was the Archer's only child. Survivors include his widow, Angelina Marie; and his parents Jeff and Harriett Archer. Family requests donations to Childrens Hospital in Phoenix. Walker Funeral Home in Williams is in charge of arrangements. -------------------- The Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona August 27, 1974 Seligman - Graveside services for Roy Jess Archer 38, and his daughter, Kathleen Marie Archer age 7, were at 1:00 p.m. today at Seligman Cemetery. Mr. Archer and his daughter died in a fire on the Diamond A Ranch last Wednesday. A native of Chicago, he had lived in Arizona 30 years, and was a cowboy. Kathleen was born in Neosha, Missouri. Survivors include his wife and her mother, Angeline; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jess Archer of Oklahoma, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bertie Sullivan of Prescott. Walker Funeral Home handled arrangements.
