TERRELL, Grover Cleveland


The Prescott Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, October 27, 1974 Grover C. Terrell Grover C. Terrell, 51, died at the VA Hospital in Phoenix Friday. Hew was a resident of Arizona for the past 47 years and of Mayer for the past 21 years. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of an underwater demolitions team in which he earned the Bronze Star, with five Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Presidential Unit Citation. He was the last surviving member of Underwater Demolition Team 10. He had been a miner in Mayer and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Masonic Aztlan Lodge No. 1, in Prescott and the VFW. Survivors include his widow, Darla, of Mayer; two sons, Terry, of Mayer, and Berry, of San Francisco; two grandchildren; one brother, Jack, of Phoenix; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Burge of Hollywood, Mrs. Ethel Drake of Phoenix and Mrs. Florence Coturri, of San Francisco. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Memory Chapel.
