Claire Lucille Hendrickson, age 101, died peacefully Friday morning, February 23, in Prescott, Arizona. Known as Kelly, she was born at home in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, September 7, 1905, the second daughter of Andrew M. and Emma F. Larson Hendrickson.
She worked as an assistant in medical practices in Chicago and New York before moving to Mesa in the 1940s. She moved to Prescott Valley in 1968 and to Prescott in 2003. An independent and resourceful woman, she enjoyed traveling in this country and abroad, made her clothes and built her house in Mesa.
She is survived by sister, June Olson of Dodgeville; two nieces and a nephew, Sara Jane Moss of Greenfield, Miss., Karen Keefe of Coon Rapids, Minn., and E. Kim Evans of Winter Park, Fla.; many grand-and great-grand-nieces and -nephews and one great-great-grand-nephew.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Leone Evans, Evelyn Mellum, Mildred Johns; and by her brothers, John, Merle and Charles Hendrickson; and by a nephew Robert Thomas.
There are no formal services.
Interment will be in Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville, Wisconsin.
