HELSEL, Mary Susan

Mary Susan (Shipe) Helsel, 85, of Phoenix, AZ passed from this world to Eternal Life on May 29, 2007. She was born May 4, 1922 to William S. and Katie Brill Shipe in Springfield, WV. "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her love for her family was ever present. Her graceful hands crafted many treasures. Her pride and joy was nurturing and caring for her many gardens and beautiful flowers. She spent her last few years in the loving home of her family in Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Sherman Elwood Helsel; her sister Mildred I. Dunbar; and brothers William C., Harold L., and Earl K. Shipe. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Suzanne Ilene (Joel) Fogel of Milledgeville, IL, and Janet Marie (Jamey) Stoeber of Phoenix, AZ. Her sisters Mattie Lee and Esther Ford of MD, Grace Blackburn of PA, brothers Donald C. and Lloyd L. Shipe of Phoenix, grandsons Jeffrey Sherman (Paulette) Kolts of Ft. Worth, TX, and Michael Ryan Stoeber, two step-grandchildren, Michelle Leigh and Joel Timothy, Jr. all of Phoenix, three great grandchildren, Jarrett Sherman, Wylan Andrew, and Hogan Walker, all of Ft. Worth, and a step-great-granddaughter, Lucile Margene of Phoenix. Visitation and services were at A. L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix. Interment was private.
