DOUGLAS, Sally E.

Sally E. Douglas, 69, beautiful mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, Arizona with her beloved sons, Dr. Paul Douglas and Dwayne Douglas, at her side on May 30th, 2007. In addition to her sons, she is survived by her mother, Etna Sutton, and the seven grandchildren she so adored: Jennie, Michael, Ryan, Devin, Jeffrey, Katherine, and McKenna. During the 14 years she battled cancer, Sally lived a full and uncompromised life, amazing and inspiring everyone around her. Having moved to the valley in 1959, she served as a member of the Phoenix Zoo Auxiliary for 33 years, where she assumed numerous roles including Aid to Zoo Horse Show Treasurer, Aid to Zoo Travel Treasurer, and Fashion Show Co-Chair. Sally also served on the Scottsdale Healthcare Honor Ball Committee. A "Celebration of Life" service was held at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. in Scottsdale. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Phoenix Zoo Auxiliary for the Sally Douglas Memorial. Donations can be sent to the Phoenix Zoo Auxiliary, 455 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ. 85008. We thank her and love her for everything she has done for us! Our mother, grandmother, and friend will be missed, but cherished and loved forever.
