Columbia Daily Tribune, Columbia, Missouri June 27, 2002 Phoebe Caroline Elsea, 94, of Prescott, Ariz., died after an accident in her home Thursday, June 20, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Prescott with Larry Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott. Mrs. Elsea was born Sept. 28, 1907, in Deer Park to E.D. and Annie Hubbard Allen. She married Carl Elsea on March 14, 1936, and he survives. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was active as a volunteer in library, symphony and church work in Prescott. She was a fund-raiser and a museum docent. Survivors also include three sons, George Elsea of Lampasas, Texas, Jerry Elsea of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Peter Elsea of Santa Cruz, Calif.; three sisters, Barthena Barnes and Ella Bass Miller, both of Columbia, and Margaret Paul of Dover, Del.; two brothers, Richard Allen and Frederick Allen, both of Columbia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to the Prescott Friends of the Library. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hampton Funeral Home in Prescott.
