MCMURRAY, Norwood

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, AZ February 10, 2001 Norwood McMurray 91, of Mesa, AZ, passed away February 7, 2012. Born in McMurray, PA. Norwood came to Phoenix, AZ in 1944 with his wife Margaret and daughter Janet. He retired from a career at Holsum Bakery after more than 30 years. During that time he raised four children in the Phoenix home that he built. In 1990 Norwood found love for the second time and married Viola. They were happily married for 21 years. Norwood is survived by his wife Viola, his children Janet, (Reid Nielson) Jim, (Carole Rosema), Nancy, (William Apel), and Iola, (Jeff Taylor). Seven grandchildren: Heather, Jennifer, Warren, Westley, Arlen, Colleen, and Ryan; and three great-grandchildren Sheridan, Dallas and Alexandria. A visitation will be held at Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85014 on Saturday, February 11, 2012, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with services starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix.
