Debora J. Masseth, age 61, a long-time resident of both La Habra, Calif. and Fort Mohave, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev., after a short and courageous battle with a heart condition.
Debbie was born on December 12, 1950, in Britton, S.D. Her family soon relocated to Southern California where she graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969. She enjoyed drill team, having cheered on many standout athletes, including soon to be husband, Dave Masseth, another graduate of Norwalk High School (1967).
Debbie was "Mom" to many deserving souls beyond her four children of Robert, Michelle, Kristy, and Tony.
She held a passion for helping others and she had made many a stranger feel "at home" whenever in her presence. Mom consistently donated time and money to others in need, and her legacy of helping others will live on, having donated several of her major organs to save lives.
Debbie also loved to challenge the "one-armed bandit," having won her fair share of jackpots in her time here in Laughlin.
Lastly, when not in Laughlin, she spent her time working in the family business, Tri-State Hose in Fort Mohave.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Dave Masseth, and her daughter of 32 years, Michelle.
Debbie will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends including her parents, Leonard and Joanne Peterson; brother, Gene "Pete" (Marjorie) Peterson; three children, Robert (Holly), Kristy, and Tony (Stacy); and seven grandchildren, Ashly, Bailey, Gavin, Kaitlyn, Skylar, Emily, and Lindsay.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service in celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Mohave Valley United Methodist Church, 1593 Lipon Blvd., Fort Mohave, Arizona, 86426.
