ATWOOD, Donald "Big D"

Parker Pioneer, Parker, AZ - Published on February 15, 2012 - Donald “Big D” Atwood March 14, 1932 - Jan. 31, 2012 Big D was born March 14, 1932 in Endicott, NY. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1959, where he mustered out at Nellis Air Force Base. He remained in Las Vegas as a chef until moving to Parker, Ariz., in 1972. Big D cooked for the Silver Saddle, Branding Iron, Havasu Springs Resort and Blue Bar II. In 1996 he decided to “summer” in Jarbrige, Nev., where he was a cook and bartender at the Outdoor Inn. His parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Big D will be missed by all who knew him.
