Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Wednesday, February 15, 2012 - Verna L. (Kunster) Krenkler, of Lake Havasu City, left us Jan. 23, 2012. She passed away at the home of her son, Dennis Kunster, surrounded by her loving family and close friends. Verna was born in Milwaukee, Wis., and later moved to Philadelphia, Pa. She moved to California with her family in 1951. Verna then obtained a job with Metropolitan Stevedore, of Wilmington, Calif., and retired as Human Relations Manager. After her retirement, she worked for American Airlines in the administrative offices. Verna was very active in the Women’s Traffic Association, serving that organization as president for two terms. She also enjoyed belonging to the Red Hat Society both in Southern California and Lake Havasu City and loved to play bunco with her many lady friends. Verna was ageless! She was at the heart of her family and their many outings. Whether boating on the lake or traveling in the motor home or the many other activities, Verna was the bright light that brought happiness and love to everyone. Vivacious with boundless energy, Verna was the spark that set the standard for her family and friends. She loved to party and drink champagne living life to the fullest. She will be missed by everyone who has been touched by her beauty and her endless kindness. May she rest in peace. Verna is preceded by her second husband, Fred Krenkler. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Sandra) Kunster, Carol (Tom) Fiori, Bill Kunster, June Boise; grandchildren, Krissie (Eric) Hughes, Carrie (Alex) Clinton, Tara Kunster, Peter Quanta, Scott (Janene) Matrisciano, Cynthia (William) Kimball; and many loving great-grandchildren who will miss their loving “NANA” greatly. Memorial Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the City of Hope, 1055 Wilshire Blvd #1200, Los Angeles, CA 90017.
