Mary passed into the loving arms of Jesus, her Savior and Lord Feb. 9. Mary was born May 25, 1933, to James Monroe and May Fern Crutcher in Orofino, Idaho. She graduated high school in Orofino and later attended college in Spokane, Wash., and in Arkansas. She married Charles Starkey in 1953, who preceded her in death in the year 2000.
Mary taught school at Kooskia, Idaho, where she retired after 20 years.
She loved playing the piano, gardening, fishing and spending time outdoors.
Mary moved to Lake Havasu City to be with her daughter, Patricia Starkey, in 2007 because of health issues.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia; son, Chuck; and five grandsons, Kyle, Andrew, Nicholas, Matt and Brandon. She has four great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be at the Havasu Bible Fellowship Church Saturday at 1 p.m. A memorial will take place at a later date in Lapwai, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Havasu Bible Fellowship Church or the local Food Bank.
