The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/17/2012 Lawrence Gatewood of Cibecue entered eternal rest Feb. 13, 2012, in Whiteriver. He was born May 1, 1952, in Cibecue. Lawrence is survived by his common law spouse, Virginia Lewis; foster children: JoMarie Lewis, Kristin Lewis, Nicholas Lewis, Vera Lewis, Rachal Lewis; father Jackson Gatewood Sr.; brothers: Delmore Taylay, Denzo Jefferson, Matt Dorrance Thomas, Jackson Gatewood Jr., Jefferson Gatewood; sisters: Phobe Maria, Karen Gatewood, Sandra Gatewood; aunt Lela Bullock; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Sybil Gatewood; sister Evangeline G. Tsinajinnie; and niece Phyllis Gatewood. A two night wake will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at Delmore Taylay's residence in Cibecue. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at the Lutheran Church in Cibecue with Pastor Gary Lupe officiating. Interment will be at the Red Mountain Ridge Cemetery in Cibecue. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
