SWANSON, Anna Jane

The Camp Verde Bugle, Camp Verde, Arizona Tuesday, January 13, 2009 Anna Jane Swanson, 85, of Cottonwood, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009, following a prolonged illness. She was born June 15, 1923, to Grace and L. Patrick Stanford. She married Henry (Harry) E. Swanson, Jr. on April 4, 1942. Once a civilian employee of the U.S. Army during World War II, she had an extensive work history which culminated in her retirement, in 1985, from the Snohomish County Health Department, Office of Vital Statistics, in Washington State. Following her retirement, she and her husband lived near their son in Lake Havasu City and Cottonwood. She is survived by her husband - her best friend of 72 years - Henry (Harry) E. Swanson, Jr. of Cottonwood. She is also survived by her three children, Henry (Harry) E. Swanson, III of Safford, Jane (Jeannie) P. Goodspeed of Cottonwood, and Carolyn M. Moore of Orting, Wash. Anna Jane Swanson had eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Private services were held by her immediate family. Arrangements were under the direction of Bueler Funeral Home, Camp Verde.
