GRIFFIS, Donald James

Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from February 17 to February 24, 2012 - Donald James Griffis, age 78, a resident of Needles, Calif., for most of his life, passed away at home on Friday, February 10, 2012, and went to be with our Lord. He served in the United States Navy for 30 years, and also worked off-shore drilling and on the railroad. Donald was admired by many. He was a man of courage and strength, and was our hero. Rest in peace, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two sisters. Donald is survived by his nine children, a brother, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Needles Riverview Cemetery, 1101 E. Broadway, Needles. Arrangements are under the care of Dimond & Sons Needles Mortuary, 222 E Street, Needles.
