Walter Jacobs Died at Home
Walter F. Jacobs, 64, died at his home Saturday. He was born on March 30, 1910 in Chicago and had lived in Prescott and Arizona the past 44 years.
He served in New Guinea in World War II, had been employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for 10 years, and had worked at the Whipple VA Hospital for 18 years retiring in 1969 as supervisor of the Housekeeping department. He was an avid sportsman, had participated in sports himself and had coached several softball teams. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his widow, Inez Jacobs, of Prescott; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Hanna, of Prescott; one son, Robert Wooten, of Prescott; one brother, Theodore Jacobs of Las Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Marshall, of Benton Harbor, Mich., Mrs. Jeanette Thor, of Charlotte, N.C; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services have been scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with interment to be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Hampton Funeral Home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
