The Desert Sun (Palm Desert CA) Sunday, February 19, 2012 Peter Lekousis Jr, 71, of Lake Arrowhead, Calif. died February 8, 2012 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. of Leukemia. He was born October 31, 1940, to Peter Lekousis Sr and Josephine L Iaquessa in New Haven, Conn. He married Janis K Smith on February 1, 1958 in Wickenburg, Ariz. He was a retired Contractor. He is survived by daughters Kandi Papike and her husband Randy of Ahwahnee, Calif. and Whitney Gattuso and her husband Gary of Thermal, Calif. Brother Ted Lucas of Walla Walla, Wash. 5 Grandchildren: Travis and Tyler Papike and Briana, Courtney and Corey Gattuso. He was preceded in death by Janis K Lekousis, May 30, 2003. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Rose Mortuary & Crematory, Palm Desert, Calif. in charge of arrangements. The family suggest that donations be made to the American Cancer Society for Leukemia Research.
