The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/24/2012 Tom Malone, 52, died Feb. 13, 2012 in Springerville. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at his home. He was born June 7, 1959 in Miami to Thomas Lee and Emily Jean (Pace) Malone, the oldest of three siblings. He served in the United States Army in the ‘80s as an artillery NCO with 4th ID at Fort Carson, Colo. After his discharge he continued his employment at Magma/BHP in San Manuel, Arizona and after 20 years, retired and moved to Springerville in 1998 with his wife, Rebecca, and four boys. He then worked as the Public Works Director for the Town of Springerville. An avid hunter and outdoorsman all of his life, Tom loved his gun collection and shared his recreation with his children, grandchildren and anyone interested in participating. He was also an accomplished journeyman welder and consistently had ongoing projects. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Malone; son, Thomas Otto Malone; stepsons: Edward Boulware, Mark Boulware, and George Boulware; brothers: Mike Malone and Dale Pace; sister Terri Schriffrens; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at La Posada Lodge and Casitas, 5900 North Oracle Road in Tucson.
