The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/24/2012 Linda Jane Christopher, 67, of White Mountain Lakes died Feb. 20, 2012, in the care of Hospice of the Valley of Gilbert. She was born April 28, 1944, in Frankfort, Ind. to Harold and Bonnie Beck. She married Jerry Christopher May 19, 1972 in Indianapolis, Ind., who preceded her in death. She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1963 and Kokomo business college in 1964. Her first job was at Public Service of Indiana (electric company) from 1964 to 1969. She later transferred to their headquarters in Plainfield, Ind. From here, she went to work for Indiana Bell. In 1978 she transferred to Mountain Bell in Phoenix. After settling into their new home in Phoenix, Linda worked at Mountain Bell (U.S. West) until she retired in July of 2001. Linda still wasn’t done working. She then went to work for Deer Valley Unified School District in Phoenix, driving a school bus for seven years. In June 2008 Linda and her husband moved to White Mountain Lake. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Brian Sims of Gilbert; son, Raymond Christopher of New Lenox, Ill.; stepson, Mark Hollenbaugh (Angie) of South Witney, Ind.; seven grandchildren; sister, Kathy Beck of Logansport, Ind.; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Patti Beck of Sharpsville, Ind., three sisters-in law Pat Sircy of Plainfield, Ind., Juanita Christopher, and Dottie Christopher both of Indianapolis, Ind. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 29, at Burton Baptist Church; 6566 W. Burton Road in Show Low, and Phoenix Memorial Park; 200 W Beardsley Rd. in Phoenix. Pastor Matt Gaston will officiate both memorial services. Burial will be at a later date in Gettingsville, Ind. alongside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or any animal shelter.
