Antonio Jose
Antonio Jose Arollo, age 65, after a long battle with cancer went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 3, 2001.
He is survived by his loving wife, Minnie, of 45 years and his three children and their spouses, Theresa Arollo Bejarano (husband Robert), Jeanette Arollo Martinez (husband David), Anthony Michael Arollo (wife Velinda); his eight grandchildren, Berndette Bejarano-Drew (husband Antonny); David, Rosalinda, Mercecdes, and Gabriella Martinez; Anthony, Vincent, and Emilio Arollo; his great grandson Anthony Michael Joseph Drew; and his mother Virginia Abril Arollo.
Tony grew up in Phoenix where he met and married Minnie. He served in the Navy for four years, Air national Guard for two years, and the Army Reserve for one year. He was employed with the City of Phoenix where he retired after 27 years as an Automotive Specialist. For a number of years Tony served in his community by coaching Fortuna Soccer Club. He was a wonderful friend and neighbor. His interest included working outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved spending his spare time by the ocean in Ensenada, Mexico. Tony loved his family and friends and was greatly loved in return. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation and viewing will be on May 7, 2001 at 6:30-8:30pm and the Rosary will be said at 7:00pm at St Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church (6200 S Central Avenue). Funeral mass will be said for Tony at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (3140 N 51st Avenue) on May 8, 2001 at 10:00 am.
Burial will follow the funeral at St Francis Cemetery (5005 E Oak Street). Flowers may be sent to Universal Sunset Chapel (7007 S Central Avenue, Phoenix, 85040) or donations may be made to La Ciudad de los Ninos Orphanage in care of Minnie Arollo.
