"Corkey" Smith, age 79, a 13-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away in the hospital on Thursday, February 16, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born April 4, 1933, in St. Louis, Mo. and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. After his tour of duty in the Korean War, Corkey returned to San Antonio, Texas to work for the Texas Department of Transportation for 39 years. Arizona and Nevada became his home after retirement. When Corkey was not working, he was quick to wet a line or join his many friends at the bowling center. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Penny Smith; daughter, Rhonda Johnson; son, Roger Smith; and two step-children, Christi Palmer and Marshall McLean. Corkey was blessed to live a long and happy life. A private service will be held by the family.
